The Unicorns are Finished!

I put glow-in-the-dark stars on this one!

Alice in Paperland

First I drew Alice from a book I have.

 Then, I used my light board to trace for the pieces I needed.

Put together, outlined, and added little Dinah!

The below picture was scanned, so hopefully it shows the layers a little bit better.

I did add lines for the fingers after I scanned it.

Is there a pill for drawing frustration?

I started drawing this unicorn over a year ago.  

Part of the reason I never finished it is because it got frustrating.

I worked on it today and the frustration came back.

I haven't felt frustrated drawing in quite some time, though that could

mean that I'm not really challenging myself with drawing.

I did get at least some drawing done.

My niece's birthday is coming up and I'm making her a poster of a unicorn.  

This is just a practice sketch.

Purse Progress

Yesterday in my sewing class I got further along with my purse project.

The pieces are coming together!  

Since I've never made this before and don't actually have a pattern or directions (I just referenced a purse I have now), I'm kind of winging it.  So far, so good, though!

I was looking out the window and saw a toad hopping by my car, so I ran out to try to get a picture before it hopped away.

Sewing a purse- straps/handles

I've been trying to keep up with my art, but there have been a couple days here and there when I didn't do anything art related.  I actually missed it!  So, I've decided to keep track of some of the projects I work on to help me stay focused.  

Here's what I worked on today:

I used my existing purse to make a pattern.

Then, I cut out all the material leaving a seam allowance.

I finished sewing the straps/handles for the purse.

I just need to iron them.
