Day 21 (Only 49 weeks to go!)

This morning I caught a fly that was in my house and went outside to release it.

While outside, a little chipmunk came running toward me, unaware of my presence.  Once it saw me, it stopped quickly and paused, and then ran back the way it came.  It was only about a foot away from me when it realized I was there.  I decided to draw a chipmunk in honor of that furry little friend.

Before I left for work, I made a note for my mom, or as I do still sometimes call her (however juvenile),  Mommy.  I used my heart punch with pink and red paper.  

Putting the different colors on top of each other helped them to have a pop or 3D effect.

I've been going outside and taking pictures during my breaks and lunches, and today was no exception.  

I didn't see any squirrels today, but a few geese swam by me.  One actually swam right up to me, hoping to get some food.  I wish I had had some to give!

I loved the sky tonight.

I was even able to get a picture of the moon.

"Darkness falls across the land.  The midnight hour is close at hand."

Day 20 (Not a teen anymore!)

I took some more pictures today on my lunch.

I was especially tired, but before I went to bed I did a quick drawing.

Day 19

There was another gorgeous sunset today.

I did a few more scribble drawings today when it was slow at work.  Black was the original scribble color for the top two.

I was so excited about this one that I had to expand it. The blue in the upper left piece of paper was the original scribble in this one.

After drawing the one above, I must've had guitars on my mind, because I saw a little puddle of water that I thought looked like a guitar.

During my break and lunch, I went outside and took some pictures.

Fall is here!

Later that night, I wanted to send one of my friends a note, so I made one for him.

I like how the back turned out the best.

Day 18

I did a couple more scribble drawings today during downtime at work.  Maybe for tomorrow's Artventure, I can try to develop the scribbles as characters like I did with the "sad dog" from Day 11.  

Later, I did a sketch of Pongo from Disney's 101 Dalmatians.  

The opening credits, as well as the animation throughout the movie, 

have been an inspiration to me for such a long time.

Day 17

Another beautiful day today!  It takes about 20 minutes or more for me to get to church, but the drive is sooo worth it!  There are fields full of flowers all along the way.  I've been doubling and tripling the time on the way home because of my overwhelming urge to capture the beauty I see. 

There's a pop art setting on my camera that makes the colors, well, pop.

The normal setting is quite a bit duller, but still looks decent.

As I drove, I saw something moving in a grassy area, and naturally pulled over to check it out.  I did that once when I saw a huge snake on the side of the road.  Good thing it was dead!  Today what I saw was a beautiful cat with striking markings, especially over the eyes.  I loved her long whiskers, too.

She never ran away, even after I moved closer a few times.  I sat and took pictures until I wore out what was left of the battery, and then headed home.

Day 16

When I got up this morning, it was cold.  It sunk in that summer is over.  There isn't much time left for the green-ness, the flowers, and the insects, so I went to the park today to take advantage of the time still available. 

There were a ton of geese flying through the park.  I didn't focus too much on trying to get a good shot of them, but I was able to quickly get this one.

I got there early enough to see dew on the grass which was fun to try to capture.

While working on that, I saw a woodlouse (pill bug, potato bug, roly-poly).  He was a busy little bug so it was hard to get a good shot.  He did let me get a clear shot of his butt, though.

For the first time, ever, I thought a potato bug was kind of cute.  Apparently people sometimes keep them as pets.  I'm not sure if I'd go that far (yet), but seeing them up close was nice.

The flowers were beautiful.

I was able to get a shot of a black cricket.  At one point he got startled and ended up jumping on my camera before hopping away.  

I ventured onto a closed off bridge.  There were so many spider webs with pretty good sized spiders in them.  Most of them had made tunnels that they hid in.  Often when I approached with the camera, they would retreat further into the hole.

This guy was very aggressive, though.  He came out of the hole and moved towards me, twice.  I didn't stay there too long.  I enjoy taking pictures of spiders, but I definitely wouldn't want one on me.  

This grasshopper was leery of me and moved slowly away.  It almost seemed as though he was hurt.

Then a little ways away, I saw these two.  Maybe there was a fight over the mating.

A few months ago I was at the zoo and saw a bear sitting.  He reminded me of a man, lounging in a recliner watching television.  He probably would be drinking a beer, too.
