Day 31

I'm starting to get used to Fall.  I love taking drives, and the drive to church is especially beautiful now that the leaves have started changing colors.  Pictures, of course, never quite do justice to that beauty.

The leaves inspired a new project I'd like to do.  I'm really excited about it, but won't be able to get it started for at least a few days.  My idea will combine community service and art.

I watched a friend's dog for a bit today, an adorable little Puggle.  What a sweetheart!

Leaves, leaves, everywhere!

Day 30 (One MONTH!!!)

At work today, there was a point when we only had one customer and her order was taking a while.  I wanted to help pass her waiting time a bit, so I drew her a "hot dog" that was a wiener dog in a bun.  I wasn't able to get a picture of the drawing before I gave it away.

There's always a pinata at my niece's birthday party, which usually has a good amount of candy, so sometimes I sneak a few pieces.  I got some nerds, and it looks like they're gearing up for Halloween.

Day 29

I went outside on lunch today and saw some squirrels, as I often do in the park near my work.

I used to love playing with Legos.  I loved building houses and making my own creations out of the bricks.  Most of all, though, I loved the Lego people.  I was inspired by them for my Artventure today.

Day 28

I love how the scribble drawings help me to see things that wouldn't readily be seen.  I sometimes see shapes in other things as well.  Today I saw the shape of a Basset Hound.  Here's what it looked like after I tried to draw what I had seen in the shapes:

I'd still like to change a few things, which I can do next time.

Basset Hounds are so adorable!

Day 27

Teaching kids gluttony since 1978.

"It's a race, it's a chase, hurry up and feed their face!
Who will win? No one knows! Feed the hungry hip-ip-pos!
Hungry hungry hippos! (open up and there it goes!)"

Day 26

A while back there was a show called The Angry Beavers.  I was a big fan.  I decided to draw Daggett.

Day 24

I decided to take a look back at Day 18 and make a character from the scribble drawing fish.
Here's the original:

I thought it looked a bit like a swordfish, so I elongated the top of the mouth.  I liked the angled look on the top and went with more angles throughout the fish.  I then outlined in it ink.

The ink helped allowed me to see it well enough to trace onto some colored paper.
Here's how it turned out:

A friend of mine and her husband just moved into a new house.  I want to send them a congratulatory card.  I thought of putting Snoopy and his house on the front.  I did a couple of sketches.

I'd like to try to finish the card by tomorrow and send it out.  Time for bed now, though.

Day 23

Great day today.

In 1879, Henri de Toulous-Lautrec painted "Artilleryman Saddling His Horse."  One of my roommates showed me this painting which was completed when Toulous-Lautrec was only 14 years old.

Today I drew my own version.

Day 22

Two of my roommates from college came to visit today.  One of my favorite memories from our year together, was when all the roommates and I took glow sticks and used a slow shutter speed on a camera to make shapes or words.

We even made a Christmas tree!

I did a quick marker sketch of the tree we made that night.

It's not Christmas yet, though all the retail stores seem to think it is, (warning! cheese to follow-) but it feels like Christmas because of the wonderful gift I received today in the form of a visit from friends.

Day 21 (Only 49 weeks to go!)

This morning I caught a fly that was in my house and went outside to release it.

While outside, a little chipmunk came running toward me, unaware of my presence.  Once it saw me, it stopped quickly and paused, and then ran back the way it came.  It was only about a foot away from me when it realized I was there.  I decided to draw a chipmunk in honor of that furry little friend.

Before I left for work, I made a note for my mom, or as I do still sometimes call her (however juvenile),  Mommy.  I used my heart punch with pink and red paper.

Putting the different colors on top of each other helped them to have a pop or 3D effect.

I've been going outside and taking pictures during my breaks and lunches, and today was no exception.

I didn't see any squirrels today, but a few geese swam by me.  One actually swam right up to me, hoping to get some food.  I wish I had had some to give!

I loved the sky tonight.

I was even able to get a picture of the moon.

"Darkness falls across the land.  The midnight hour is close at hand."

Day 20 (Not a teen anymore!)

I took some more pictures today on my lunch.

I was especially tired, but before I went to bed I did a quick drawing.

Day 19

There was another gorgeous sunset today.

I did a few more scribble drawings today when it was slow at work.  Black was the original scribble color for the top two.

I was so excited about this one that I had to expand it. The blue in the upper left piece of paper was the original scribble in this one.

After drawing the one above, I must've had guitars on my mind, because I saw a little puddle of water that I thought looked like a guitar.

During my break and lunch, I went outside and took some pictures.

Fall is here!

Later that night, I wanted to send one of my friends a note, so I made one for him.

I like how the back turned out the best.
