Day 90

I've been really into turtles lately.  On top of it, my coworker wants me to draw her a turtle, so I've been looking at more pictures of them to try to get a better visual grip on them.
I drew this today:

Later, I was eating some Oreos and thought of some of Judith Klausner's work.  She has sculpted faces in Oreo cream (among a lot of interesting as well as unique work).  Check out her website here.
I thought I'd see if I could sculpt anything in the cream, and so I tried.
Surprise!  It's a turtle.

I did do something non-turtle related, though.  I had drawer #4 today at work, so this is what I drew on the little button stamp thingy:

Oh! And I took some more pictures of the moon.

The clouds were creating perfect opportunities to see some kind of creature or animal, especially with the moon serving as an eye.  It's hard to tell, but the top picture looked like a shark.

Day 89

It's hard to see in the picture, but this morning the tiny dew droplets on my window looked like magic fairy dust.  Magic must not like being photographed.
Here's a mouse that has big dreams of becoming a beautiful white horse pulling Cinderella's pumpkin stagecoach, if only for one night...

Day 88

I love taking pictures of the moon.

I made another register button at work today.  My coworker wants me to draw her a turtle, so I drew a small one on here first.

Day 87

I was able to take a few pictures outside this morning.
 The geese look almost robotic.
There IS still some beauty left outside!

I put this together using some of the scraps from the card I made yesterday.

I did a couple scribble drawings, too:

Day 86

This morning was a busy one!  I got up early and baked some chocolate chip muffins.
Baking is definitely a form of art, and quite a delicious one at that!
I also made a card for a little one's dedication ceremony.

At work I made another button for the register.
I think the French horn has such a beautiful sound.
The video below is a showcase of that beauty, as well as the beauty of composer John Williams' music, and the extreme talent of this horn player, Marc Papeghin.

Day 85

My favorite number is 1.  Why?  When I was young, I was small for my age.  I played a few different sports, and the smallest shirts usually had the smallest numbers on them.  I usually ended up with the number 1 on my shirt.  When my grandpa would come to a game, he would cheer for me and say, "Let's go number one!  You're number one!"  His cheering meant so much to me that when I was able to start choosing my own number in sports, I stuck with the number one.

I made another register button (See Day 60) today at work:
Guess where I got my inspiration from ;)

I originally thought I would have a different drawer today, so I made this one first:

After work, I stopped at Walmart to check if one of my memory cards was there (I may have lost one!), and had to stand in line for a bit.  I looked around and tried to find things to draw.  I had to really stretch to get something, but I tried using the scribble drawing exercise to help me see interesting pictures in my not-so-interesting surroundings.  Here are a few things I came up with:

Wolf-thing.
Laughing gorilla.
Grasshopper-ish bug.

I got this idea from some patterns in my curtains.

I drew this frog at work:

Day 84 (Happy Thanksgiving!)

We celebrated Thanksgiving at my sister's house, but made some pies before we left.

My niece wanted to draw a bit before we ate, and suggested that we draw a tiger.  (She has good taste!)
I think hers turned out Grrrreat!  She was a little frustrated, because hers didn't look like mine.  I told her that the more you draw, the better you get.
I used to never even try to draw something without a picture.  I've been trying to do it more often lately, though.  The more I do it, the better I'll get!

My niece also drew an elf.
I think she's getting so good, so quickly!

Day 83

Elephant.

I made another button for the register today at work.  I sketched one to get an idea and then made the final one.

Day 82

I've been thinking about using push pins in some way for a while.
I pulled out my cork board and pinned down a pattern.
What is it?

I used some string to connect the push pins.

It's Batman!

Day 80

My nephew really likes trucks, so I started this one for him.

I have an idea box that I started months ago.  Every time I think of an idea of a new project, something to make, or even something I'd like to try, I write it down.  I then put it in a box and can go back to it at anytime.

Day 79

I've been thinking about pigs a lot today.  I think they are actually kind of cute, especially when they're young.  I sketched a bit at work and I did a drawing as well:
These are my sketches from work:
The pig in the bottom corner was a first draft of a register button I had drawn.  Unfortunately, I forgot to take the finished button home.  The bird is an African Crowned Crane which is such a gorgeous bird!

Speaking of animals, I ran across this 'documentary' about some really fast turkeys.

Fight or flight!

Day 78

I loved the way the sliver of the moon looked tonight.

I did some sketches to try to come up with some ideas for another button drawing (also on Day 60, Day 70,
and Day 74).  I was thinking grizzly bears.
I ended up making it a teddy bear instead:
